What a series.  Man...
I have definitely never seen anything that tells a tale of afterlife like this series

Madhouse Studio don’t like having sequels. They made Death Parade as an “experimental” anime that goes booming unplanned. They ended the story very well. The only thing they need probably an OVA after the girl left. They didn’t think this anime would be popular because of how dark it is. which is why they left Death Parade untouched after that. They are afraid that if they touch it again, they will ruin it. And since it is original anime from the studio itself(did not have any author), it’s hard to continue the story.

This was one of the first anime I watched and I love it so much.

I have been sad for a while after it was over. There won't be another anime like this one. Btw if you want another good anime to watch, check out Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's 64 episodes plus blooper, and I suggest the dub. It's the best dub out there.

This was written and directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa. It was his first original creation and first time being the main director.

Death Billiards is the 25 minute short film that the series spawned from. Sort of like a proof of concept. You can find it uploaded on YouTube. Because of that short, this original story got the funding it needed for the 12 episode series you just watched. https://youtu.be/PEqR-MRIasc

2023-05-27 02:31:48 I've been thinking about recommendations for anime for you to check out. I think you should continue with ones that have a good soundtrack/score. The problem is I don't really listen too hard to the scoring/soundtrack unless it really sticks out to me. I also think you should steer away from anything in the shounen jump line since everyone reacts to those. With those criteria in mind here are my top 12 recommendations in order of episode count: Bungou Stray Dogs Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun! The Ancient Magus' Bride Kill La Kill Re:Creators Don't Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro Zombieland SAGA (This one has some really good songs and would also be a nice follow up to Death Parade) Made in Abyss (you'll probably get to this soon without the recommendation but "Top 11" doesn't sound as good) Land of the Lustrous Vivy's Song Girls' Last Tour Girls & Panzer (I internally cringe whenever I post anything online but here it goes...)

Suggestions: K-On, Your Lie in April, Zombieland Saga, and Fukumenkei Noise would be one of the best music animes to react to. As for another underrated show, "Eighty-Six", on par with shows youve watched such as Hell's Paradise and the like

kinetic98

"Hibike Euphonium" would be great as a next reaction. It is about a high school concert band. There are several episodes where half the episode is a musical performance so there will be a lot of potential for musical analysis

This was a great show. Glad to hear we will be eventually getting more Death Parade content in the form of soundtrack analysis videos.

Some recommendations: Ya Boy Kongming! has a pretty ridiculous premise and is centered around music. A lot of fun and explores the music industry in an interesting fashion. Sound! Euphonium was already mentioned, it's about a high school wind ensemble. It focuses a lot on drama surrounding the ensemble, but its core themes may resonate with you as someone who's spent a lot of time with students. It also has a lot of focus on music performance. Vivy - Fluorite Eyes Song is a futuristic sci-fi about an AI who sings. It's action-packed and fast-paced, and explores humanity through the lens of artificial intelligence. Kekkai Sensen is a fun action/comedy which may not have as much depth as the others, but has an absolutely killer soundtrack. (well, all of them do)

2023-05-27 11:53:20 Those are great shows, especially Bungou Stray Dogs and Girls und Panzer. I'd love to see him to a reaction to FMAB (dub), Assassination Classroom, Death Note, RE:ZERO, Kimi No Na Wa, & Koe No Katachi (Great movies and great OSTs).

Yeah, part of the reason anime is so appealing to me is you get a lot of unique approaches to storytelling with lots of crazy concepts used to express a specific vision or theme. Although anime itself is a medium not a genre, there certainly does seem to be something unique to the stuff you find in anime vs other media, which is what keeps it interesting, for me at least. You're obviously getting a lot of recommendations on new shows to watch so to help you choose here's a link to what's essentially an anime Wikipedia - https://myanimelist.net/topanime.php?type=bypopularity On there you can see the popularity, genres and length of a show as well as a brief synopsis so should be helpful for you to decide on what seems interesting / worth giving a shot. Can always run a poll to see what everyone else thinks too. Regardless of what you choose I'm sure it'll be entertaining, its been great to see your reactions to everything you've watched so far, keep it up!
