oshi no ko has no shortage of plot lines, all as interesting as the others. with the revenge one like you mentioned aways being something that is in the back of your mind

Also, the revenge plot is the main plotline, it gets worked on through the course of the whole show, so don't expect it to get solved so quickly. The show is more about how both siblings interact with the entertainment business to achieve both goals (vengeance for aqua and idol career for ruby)

Yes, most time it's timed so to not take the episode time and cm breaks. It can get cut down if the episode has way too much story to tell in a single week. Rezero season 2 does that A LOT

They are in their last year of middle school and they were talking about high school entrance exams. In Japan it's 3 years of middle school and 3 years of high school so if they were in America they would be freshman’s s in high school going into their sophomore year.

Also, you weren't wrong about the end of episode 1. They were shown heading out to High School for the first time. Think of it as a preview of what is to come. In episode 2 we are seeing what takes place leading up to them entering high school.
