woah I didn't expect to see you reacting to moe anime. Also just FYI, the main character's name is a pun. Her name is Hitori gotou. They called her Bocchi because, in Japanese, Hitori bocchi is a word for alone. So since her name is Hitori, they called her bocchi because she's always alone.

Balablam

What a surprise! \o/

I've been pretty transparent in the live streams and discord that Bocchi was coming right after I started JoJo

There's also another girl's band anime that predates this show called K-on! They animated the movement of the characters when they are playing the instrument very well in that show.

Just a small heads up; every 4 episodes you'll get a new ED, the change is noticeable so I'm sure you'd have been fine realizing anyway, but just in case Excited to see the rest going forward

I didn't expect to see u react to a slice of life music anime but this is great. I'm sure it'll resonate well with many musicians' experiences.

Jet Man

This will be a fun journey.

Bocchi is one of my favorite new animes this season... it its an anime that isn't afraid to cross artistic boundaries to tell it's story. It even has some stop motion sequences in it that arent' even animated lol

inexplicabro

yup, the animation team have actos who play the songs in the OST, and then the animators trace over said actors.

Jonas

They don't trace over actors, they just use them as reference

Your lie in april is another instrument anime but with a couple other aspects to it but its pretty cool as well. Never seen this show so I'm excited to watch along with you!

min: 11:52 i really couldn’t realized if it was the effect sound from the anime or someone was 🔫🔫 on the street 😂😂😂

Love the italy jacket (I'm from italy)

Yes and No i guess? To me, it seems it's a mix. There's a technique of playing called rotoscoping and it is basically tracing. You can look into it on your own, but it looks like they take the fundamental body movements that go into the playing an instrument and fingering to base their animating on, but do their own animating from there. There are a few shows that do the same as well and especially in these kinds of shows.
