Mob is a modern classic. Reigen is my favorite character. Hoping you come around on him as the story progresses (I kinda hated him at first too)

While a lot of the show is lighthearted it certainly does get more serious. Unlike DS which is mostly serious with comedy mixed in, this is a lot of comedy which then leads into the more serious parts of the story later. I would say give it a chance because when things do get serious it doesn't miss but to each their own.

Also butt-chin aside the comedy is usually pretty clever, not just goofy non sequitor. But also butt chin is funny

Mob Psycho is such an amazing anime and Mob himself is a great and possibly one of the best protagonists in anime in my opinion
