The beginning of Brotherhood is a liiitle bit rushed, but that's cause that's the second attempt at making the anime. They must've thought there's no point in doing the beginning slowly, since most people back then knew the basics already. The first series came in 2003 and, in my opinion, had much better, darker vibe about it, but unlike Brotherhood, had to go in different direction than the original manga at some point (there was not enough manga material to adapt). The author of the manga didn't like that, but luckily gave green light, so they could make this one. DON'T GET ME WRONG, THO, I love both :)

I love Travis Willingham as Col Roy Mustang his voice fits the character perfectly! Also I think the flame alchemist is my favorite character of the show so maybe it's bias? Lol

BTW after the series I would recommend to watch bloopers that dub-team made during recording. It's hillarious. 5:58 - "Yay! Stew!" - this moment reminds me of those bloopers, you'll get it soon, only around 60 episodes left =)

The callout on the fuhrer’s VA is spot on. There are a few dub VA performances in this show that are amazing, and his is one of my favorites

The original is still very much worth watching in my opinion. Brotherhood has become the defacto one people recommend for having the full manga story and coming out more recently, but the original definitely has it's own really enjoyable take on the world, it's secrets, and how things all come together. Some parts of the original still really stick with me to this day, it's a classic in it's own right. The original release being as it good as it was and so well received is probably a big reason why they were able to make Brotherhood years later.
