oh you are in for one of the best stories in anime😳. hope u enjoy

Lijnaito2021 !

One of the best stories and one of the best animes! Also good choice on the dub there isn't a more well regarded dub in anime most of these voices are from the English dub of DBZ so it holds a lot of value to English speakers!

Nice, it's been ages since I've last watched FMAB. Personally I think Ed sounds like a fucking cornball in the dub. Nonetheless it's a great series and one that I believe you'll enjoy.

It's good that you're already thinking about the ambiguity of who is in the right and who is in the wrong here. It's a theme that this series plays with very heavily throughout.

About FMAB vs FMA : FMA (or FMA03) was series aired in 2003. It was based on manga but manga itself was not finished. So first part was "canonical" and then creators made up their own ending. FMAB series based on the same manga, but it was shoot after manga is ready - so it's more "canonical" and has "original" ending. And I guess that majority in anime community prefer FMAB. As story is the same in both series, I guess you wont jump into FMA03 after. But my humble opinion (which is orthogonal to majority here) - FMA03 way better than FMAB. It has more drama, less funny "chibi" stuff, and it hooks you emotionaly stronger, the pace of storytelling is more suitable and appropriate. I first watched FMA03 back in days, and loved it forever as is. Just IMHO!

FlowerOnThePrecipice

My favorite opening of all time grew up on this shit man 🥲

SinuHan

Fmab got all the great openings. My personal favorite is Rain but this one is amazing as well

SinuHan

Just to clarify, the Furher’s first name is King, he’s not actually a king. Ik some reactors were confused over that before

Chelle

I think he sounds like a cornball in the sub too ngl. Think that’s just how he is. Lol

Fuji Nami

This first episode isn't based on the manga, the true start is the next episode. I think they made the first episode to advertise a movie.. but also to tease returning fans who knows the story already.

Lijnaito2021 !

Technically führer is king or ruler or leader in german so he could be "king" King Bradley lol

Lijnaito2021 !

I've noticed that what happens in this episode are called back later down the road so it plays a part somehow

Hey Tony. As you gain more popularity, would it profit you to do a master class on seeing with the ears, when it comes to media? Or is that a silly question?

drumrolltonyreacts

I have a 2024 goal of FINALLY creating my 1st course on developing layered listening for beginners. I hope I get to this 🤣

Jet Man

I will say, I do like this series the best when it is being serious and less goofy/comical. There are only so many jokes about Edward being short that I can take.

Walt D

If you remember what happened in this episode, it will help you figure out half the mysteries in the anime.

Anthony Cano

Hope you like it. This is one of rare those shows that is sort if universally loved.

Avalon

My only issue with brotherhood is pacing. Especially in the first few episodes. You feel like you never have time to breath, and the dub really has to spit out their dialogue too. Snap snap snap always a new scene always a new line

Ryo

oooo Lust's english voice actress is Laura Bailey! That's cool

Refia

It's because those episodes were already adapted in the original anime, and they thought nobody would want to stay too long on a part they already know. Really bad call because most people who discover FMA:B today haven't seen the original lol

Unbeknownst Man

Without diving into detail, I'd say the humour is there as a catalyst for the characters' humanity throughout the show, it gives them depth and a more... "approachable" sorta vibe, if you will, whereas FMA03 feels way too brooding and "edgy" at times because of it. The humour, laughs and seriousness within FMAB all pays off, in my opinion; it blends into this amazing portrayal of human emotion and "coping" in the face of adversity and all of the struggle. It's closest to how Arakawa shows it in the manga as well, I'd say. Great video, Tony! Absolutely looking forward to you venturing into this one!

Really looking forward to watching this. I do prefer the sub myself, but I'll just layer over the japanese audio to your video, which I've done with other reactions before. And that works absolutely fine. Hope you enjoy this anime, because it's my favorite for sure ❤
