The dude with the white hair you thought sounded familiar voices Kabru, the darker skinned guy from that one side group in Dungeon Meshi. He does have a pretty similar cadence to Gabimaru/Stark (same dude for those 2) though so pretty good guess As for the track, usually OSTs don't get released until a bit after the anime is done airing, so no way to get it right now

So Kaiju is the Japanese term for "(Big) Monster", so you'll hear the term commonly used outside of the show and in general to refer to any huge creatures like Kong or Godzilla. Yoju refers to "(Other) Monsters"; that is, the ones that are big but not Kaiju level, for example, kinda like "lesser" kaiju. I'd give more details, but will hold off for the sake of avoiding spoilers. Great video, mate! Cheers!

This was a fun surprise, I'd be down for an anime that's just about the kaiju cleanup duty, but this looks like a fun romp too.

Fortitude is a measurement of a Kaiju's power. Like with an earthquake's Richter scale, it's on a scale of 1-9.9. So 3.5 is actually quite low.

Production I.G. is the studio behind this and they are perhaps my favorite studio. They've worked on some great stuff, such as Psycho-Pass, Steins;Gate, Heavenly Delusion (or Tengoku Daimakyo), and my all time favorite anime, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

I enjoyed the first episode. I'm a sucker for old Kaiju films. combine that into a AAA budget anime and I'm sold. Can't wait for the next one.

The studio is Studio IG which used to be a juggernaut in the animation industry. They don't buy a lot of IP to animate nowadays but they do a lot of collaborations with other studios. They even worked the WIT for Attack on Titans before it was given to Mappa.

IG did an amazing job here being this manga to life. They successfully added so much taste with modified art direction and of course, killer music

That's cool. For some reason that first kaiju coming out of the water reminded of AOT animation, so i wondered if the same studio also animated this.
