Kara (Patreon)

Happy mid-week! Been a busy one for me--except for yesterday where I got to take my seven-year-old to LEGOLAND for a class field trip. That was fun. Besides that, more writing going on than drawing which can sometimes be a bit of a slog.

Took a break from the keyboard late this afternoon to draw the above Kara portrait. Experimented with something a little different by quickly shading my flats with some digital gouache brushes in Clip Studio and then going in with my usual textured brush to refine some areas. Thought it might give the whole piece a subtle more softer feel. Sorta happy with the results being my first time at it. Just wish I remembered to save some of my process for you. Good probability I'll be drawing Babs to pair with Kara here though so I'll be sure to show a little more of this method when I get around to sharing that.
