Super Monday (Patreon)

Happy start of the new week, everyone! I recently reread All-Star Superman (coincidentally, before James Gunn started plastering the book all over his socials) and have had an itch to draw the big blue boy scout ever since. Finally got around to that a bit of yesterday afternoon and this morning. Uploaded a quick time-lapse of it HERE.

Supes has always been a tough one for me to draw. My style always tends to lean a little cute or goofy and Superman just doesn't quite work for either. So every now and then I try my hand at him in hopes that one day I'll get him right. For this attempt I tried to give him a bit of that Reeves grin, a little of Cavill's squint and jawline and the slightly shorter over-the-shoulder cape from All-Star. I guess besides his S curl, the other important thing is that he looks like someone you'd want to hang out with. Maybe go grab an ice cream with. :)
