Batgirl Supergirl Christmas Cookies (2012) (Patreon)

Happy mid-week! Continuing down ye olde memory lane this month of every BG/SG Christmas comic along with commentary.

This was the second Christmas strip I drew with the two SBFFs--still not quite BFFs (at least in Babs' mind)--and my fourth strip total with them. I feel it surprised a bunch of folks as it had been an entire year since my last BG/SG comic and folks thought I was done with them. In fact, they weren't wrong! I recall only drawing this because the idea popped in my head after a cookie exchange party at my then graphic design job. I'm glad it did though because I still think it's one of the funniest BG/SG strips I've ever drawn. It also pretty much set the stage for these becoming a Christmas tradition.

It's also worth noting that Croc here is unabashedly based off my pal Jon Morris' version of the character. His Lil' Batman comics are some of my favorite things ever (I even have some original artwork--posted above) and they definitely helped pave the way for whimsical little off canon fan comics like my own.
