Hi, all! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Sorry I'm a little late on today's Happy Monday sketch. It ended up taking me a little longer than I anticipated. Yesterday I thought, "Y'know? I'm gonna draw Shulky for my Monday drawing. I like drawing her and I don't really need any reference. It'll be quick."

Words of advice for any artist out there: Never, EVER say to yourself, "It'll be quick". It's like the showbiz equivalent of wishing someone "good luck." You're almost guaranteed to have problems drawing something if you say this to yourself.

And what started with what I thought would be a simple stretching pose, for whatever reason ended being anything but. I stubbornly troubled my way through all of yesterday afternoon with almost every aspect of this drawing. So much so, I uploaded a longer than usual 9-min time-lapse drawing so you can see for yourself those struggles. Haha.

In the end, I think it came out okay, but it did take eventually consenting I needed some reference for her arms and spending far too much time on that left foot of hers. I also kept going back and forth between her eyes looking at us or looking down (included both versions here for you). About 10 minutes before writing this post I decided that looking down was indeed the more fitting expression (though feel free to let me know how wrong I am).

And that's it for my lengthy commentary! Have a smashing day. :)

What timing! I was just rereading Slott’s She-Hulk over the weekend and this morning. It’s always a good day for Shulkie!

Both versions are great, though I definitely like it more with her looking down — it feels more like she’s stretching instead of just posing.
