August 2019 update (Patreon)

Hey all,

So, recently I’ve put a lot more thought into getting serious about Patreon. After all, it’s the dream to have this become sustainable.

Because of that, I will have to update tiers to make it easier to deliver content that’s realistic for me to make good on. The stuff I would offer would be standard artist fare: Completed art early (Higher quality for higher paying patrons), discounts, source files.

However, this would require some reorganizing and, unfortunately, the elimination of monthly sketch commissions. At least, at it’s current tier price.

Reason being if I were to spread out rewards as standard for most artists, I would want to open up the $7 slot to more people. Because of this, if that slot included something like monthly art, the workload could easily reach unmanageable levels. Even just 10 (as is the limit at the moment) is somewhat of a daunting task.

However however, I don’t want to completely destroy the point of the $7 tier. So, I have a few ideas on things that would be at least comparable. These being source files (for Clip Studio Paint), higher quality art early, and speed draws (as a behind-the-scenes type bonus). I’ve added a 25% commission discount as a reward for this tier as of today.

This is tough for me as I know that those of you in the Thickest tier chose it, at least I assume, for the commission benefit, and I don’t want to disappoint you guys. I want all of you to feel like you’re getting a good deal, while also balancing what’s humanly possible for me to achieve.

I’m not really sure how to end this, but I feel I’ve said all I need to say. I will do sketch commissions for August, and after that will most likely allocate them to a higher, premium tier ($15 is what I’m thinking).
