We survived our trip to Asia! During the trip, we visited Taipei, Shenzhen (China), Dongguan (China), Hong Kong, and Macau. We almost got trapped in the Shenzhen airport at one point -- the staff couldn't figure out how to get Keegan's ticket to work, and after two hours of failing to communicate (and eventually arguing) in languages that neither party understood, I had to make a management decision: Screw the flights. We'll take a boat.

I wasn't going to strand one of my staff in Shenzhen while I hopped on my flight (since they printed my ticket with no issues), so we retrieved the checked baggage and set forth on a journey through mainland China. We managed to figure out the subway system (with some help from other foreigners -- easily identified) and get to Hong Kong. HK, by the way, is a really cool city -- I liked it there, but we only walked through it. Lots of tunnels under the city, shopping malls under the city. It was completely insane -- something out of a futuristic movie like Blade Runner.

Once in HK, I paid (out of pocket) for the boat to take us to Macau for the AMD Polaris event, since our flights didn't work out. We got out of Macau and back to Taipei without much issue.

Crazy traveling mishaps!

On the coverage side, there was a huge amount of work to be done at Computex. This was our best show ever, and we really invested a huge amount of time and effort into the content. Most of that's already online, as you can see on the YT channel.

We are now back in NC after nearly 24 hours in airports and planes. Whew.

I took one day at the end of the trip to do some mountain biking out in the forests of Taiwan. A few of you might know that mountain biking -- specifically downhill stuff, e.g. taking a ski lift up and riding down Whistler or Snowshoe -- is the main thing that keeps me excited and motivated through the 16-20 hour days of conventions. Taiwan almost killed me, literally, but I really liked the trails and the people there.

Thanks for the ongoing support, everyone!

- Steve.
