Brewing Some Competition (Patreon)

We have been working hard at some new benchmarking tools. Over the past few months, we've developed another data type for graphing that will accompany (or partly replace) 1%/0.1% low metrics, which should be interesting to eventually unveil -- that unveil will likely be in December. We can't talk about much yet, but the new approach should help resolve some long-standing desires to get even more granular data for GPU/CPU benchmarks. As more YouTubers have adopted our method of 1%/0.1% lows, we have been moving to implement more accurate, detailed testing methods and presentation formats. We're excited for it, but it'll take another month of validation!
In the meantime, we are also working on console benchmarking. As it stands now, we are presently aware of only one outlet that is capable of detailed console benchmarks, and so we are beginning to wade into that space. The plan will primarily be to compare/contrast console + PC performance of similar titles, that way we can better understand performance scalability across PC hardware. We have finalized the first stage of development for our toolset, and can now extract and analyze framerate for console titles. We have a few other goalposts before a major deployment, but there's a chance you'll see an initial unveil with our Xbox One X coverage.
Tonight, we'll be picking up our One X from the local retailer at midnight launch, hoping to take it home for immediate content creation and tear-down. That'll go up sometime overnight.
Thanks again for your ongoing support!
