I never thought of it like that, I suppose it is because I was conditioned to believe America was something it was not, school trained me and I think most of my family was fooled into believing that our country was what they thought it was in their hearts. I know my grandfather was not a racist man, he kept his black workers on during the depression as well as whites. I do not know if they where paid the same, I would like to think they where but the only people that could tell me that are gone from here now. My friends growing up where black kids, my family was well to do but my father was a proud man and was a working man so we where poor and I did not fit in with the uppity white kids in school, they all made fun of me for my clothing and my father would not allow anyone in the family to buy me clothes other than xmas time. I was raised sheltered I believe because the blacks and whites get a long in my town for the most part and I never seen outright racism other than the internet. Today someone posted a picture that was nazi graffiti in our playground where the children play, this hurt me to think that someome from this small town did that, they had to learn it from the internet. Maybe it was someone from outside our town, I would like to think that but I have no idea. I thought the racism thing was mostly a myth but I see so much pain and suffering from people and I can not think that they all just made it up like they want us to believe. I hope that justice prevails and men are equal I know we are in YHWH eyes. To me we are equal in my eyes as well. A black person has never done anything to me wrong or treated me for other than who I was in my life. The one thing that really made me think is people go hungry in this world and there is no reason that should ever be with all the blessings I seen with my own eyes in this country we could have fed the world. I can not wait until JESUS is running the world and we enjoy peace and can love one another without guile. Until then Shalom family, I hurt because you hurt.
