Hello kinksters -

Our 13th Anniversary is this Sunday, and I want to thank each and every one of you for bringing us to this day. We absolutely, truly could not have done this without a massive amount of support from our community. Because of you, we offer a unique safe space for the kinky, queer and sex-positive communities. So congratulate yourself on this massive accomplishment!

If you'd like to hear our take on how the kink community has evolved and changed over the past 13 years -- or literally ask us anything! -- we hope you'll join our panel discussion Thirteen Lucky Years: An Oral History of Wicked Grounds this Saturday at 5pm PDT, either in person or online. (Don't forget that members at the VIP+ level can get free tickets with your discount code!)

Over the years we've had:

  • A few sets of owners
  • Two major near death experiences
  • One epic showdown with a national coffee chain
  • Hundreds of munches
  • Thousands of classes
  • Dozens of pop up booths at local play parties
  • Thirteen Folsom Street Fairs
  • A half-dozen or so Wicked Grounds Playground play parties
  • Two podcasts
  • One YouTube channel
  • One Patreon
  • A set of rehearsals for a queer musical (EyeZen's Out of Site: SOMA)
  • One tribute as the setting for a queer dark comedy (Awesome Theater's Mercy Killing)
  • One blink-and-you'll miss it scene in an adult murder mystery (Shine Louise Houston's Snapshot: the film)
  • A few instances in Kink.com and SeriousBondage.com porn clips and several indie student film clips
  • Several memorials
  • One wedding

A few trips down memory lane on video:

  • What is Wicked Grounds on YouTube
  • A community profile from four years ago
  • This crazy video from eight years ago when Mo & I first joined the team, which was also the video for our first ever fundraiser. Oh . . . youth! I'm delighted to say that all the things we promised to do in this video, we did!
  • The very first profile I was able to find, interviewing Rose thirteen years ago!

If you're in San Francisco, help us celebrate at our 13th Anniversary Fair from noon - 5pm Sunday at the cafe & Annex. Yes, we know it might rain. The fair is indoors. so come anyway! (If you're part of Leatherwalk, your Leatherwalk wrist band gets you in for free!)

xoxo
Mir & the Wicked Grounds team

PS: Want to send us a birthday present? Feel free to leave a little something in our tip jar!
