This is a simple but very powerful technique I have never seen published.

Since Legion loot tagging rules have changed to encourage more co-operative play, and the general rule is that up to 5 players of the same faction can loot the same mob provided they tag it.

This can be exploited with alts or, if you have no alts or do not wish to move them, class trial characters.

You need mobs which do not respawn very frequently (which is most of them in fact) and are obviously worth farming. You also need mobs which won't kill you that fast, and a location with a loading screen that ideally does not take too long to log into. Because of these last two considerations legacy content is often preferable to Legion content.

The technique involves parking two characters in a farming location. Have two wow clients open. Aggro mobs on one character using any ability which will not one-shot them. Log-in on your other character, you'll see the mobs attacking your first character, as it takes around a minute for your character to vanish. DPS the mobs down using your second character. Loot them. Then re-log on your first character and loot again. You should received double the loot with this method.

If the mobs respawn very quickly the time loss from using this method may not be worth it, but most mobs do not respawn very quickly. You also need a cluster of mobs so clear out any individual mobs from the surrounding area first and loot them.

You don't have to stop at two characters-up to five is possible. You may find it difficult to log-in and out five times before the mobs you are farming respawn, though it is possible with some mobs.

The gold gained from using this technique varies considerable-it can be over 50% in extreme situations.

I have been using this technique on the saberstalker mobs at Fangri'la in Tanaan Jungle for the claws which award you the savage cub pet, and also the incandescent Fel Sparks at the Throne Of Kil'Jaeden which drop lucrative primal fire. You can make up to 20K an hour doing these simple farms using these methods, about a 25-30% increase on basic farming.

If you try this with Legion content I'd strongly recommend using a lock if possible because the voidwalker will hold aggro after your initial character has logged out.  BM hunters with tank pets are also good for this. With legacy content nothing should be able to kill either character in any short timeframe.

(For the avoidance of doubt it should be emphasized that two accounts are not needed for this technique to work. You are logging in and out on different characters on the same account).
