The monk ability "Roll" is currently bugged and when used during a lag spike travels approximately 100 yards forward.  All players can use lag to increase character speed buff duration by at least a 100%.

The player can, using this glitch, can, for example, cap the flag relatively easily in the Warsong Gulch, Deepwind Gorge and Twin Peaks battlegrounds. You can also use profession techniques faster and more efficiently, also you can farm instances considerably more quickly.

Extended monk roll is an old bug which has reverted to its prior state very recently.

The ability to use to lag to extended speed buff duration  is something known to advanced exploiters but something I have never seen discussed in any detail.. I have tested this with rogue sprint, engineering nitro boosts, Demon Hunter Trample.

To induce lag exploiters have traditionally used the program lag7. The author is unknown. The original download link is no longer active. I obtained the program from this link:

While I am unaware of any reports of compromised systems using this is or prior incarnations of this incredibly useful program. you should work under the assumption that any piece of software that can be downloaded for free online contains some kind of virus, spy or other form of scumware. For this reason only download from this or any other link to lag7 if you feel that your computer can handle and if necessary quarantine any malicious program.

To exploit speed buffs activate the ability, then use lag 7. I set it to a minimum of 5 seconds. Repeated uses of lag 7 cause instability: you may disconnect and be left in an offline ghostworld from which you will have to manually close the client and restart. For this reason I would not generally activate lag 7 more than twice in any short period.

With monk roll you may find your character begins to roll on the spot, it seems to help to deactivate lag 7 to restore character control.

Demon Hunters have reported that lag spikes are affecting fel rush. While this may be accurate and was a known glitch in a prior legion patch, I could not replicate the affect using lag 7.

Lag 7 is very difficult to detect because it simulates a natural phenomena. The only way it can be detected without using some external method is by statistical analysis over a protracted period, therefore it would be desirable to use it sparingly in competitive play.

I have experimented with alternative methods to control lag such as netlimiter-generally speaking these methods do not work very well because they do not process changes in bandwidth fast enough for gameplay purposes.
