X-Ray Vision: The Most Useful Exploit I Ever Discovered (Patreon)

(Very sadly this is now fixed on retail. Still works well on classic.)

This is literally the most useful exploit I ever discovered, I use it on a daily basis. 

It works on the basis that when you reset your environment detail graphics settings, much of the scenery reloads allowing you to see through objects.

To make this work:

1. Press escape to bring up your game menu.

2. Select "system".

3. You will be presented with a slider to set your graphics quality. Below this is a list of sub-functions. Second from bottom is "environment detail". Set this to 10.

4. On the same pane make sure "enable raid and battleground settings" is  box checked.

5. To the immediate left of the box you checked is an option to set raid and battleground settings, click on this.

6. Set environment detail on raid and battleground settings to 1. 

7. Spam "Toggle Graphics Settings", the default key for this is "G". 

If G doesn't work press esc again, select "keybinds" and change "toggle graphics settings" to whatever key you prefer. 

Now make sure you are not in a building, somewhere outside in the open world, and spam G or the key you have selected. You will see that things like trees and buildings disappear and you can see right through them.

Why this is so useful:

1. On any type of "find n things" quest all the scenery around you disappears except non-permanent objects like quest items. This saves SO much time. Quests where you'd normally have to check youtube for a guide to hidden item locations can be completed within seconds. 

2. In pvp it trivializes locating flag carriers, avoiding ambushes, and setting up your own-an enormous advantage. 

3. This actually enables you to farm nodes and collect other hidden items which are normally inaccessible inside of trees or rocks, increasing your gold per hour from gathering materials. 

4. It is really useful for locating wandering rares that award large amounts of experience, which is one of the best methods to level up with currently.

There are other high-level uses for advanced exploiters beyond the scope of this article.
