WoW Retail: Farm Stygia Very Fast (Changed) (Patreon)

EDIT: Ryan has just confirmed that in 9.1.5. the souls no longer award stygia.

Patreon Ryan contributed the following very simple but clever trick to farm Stygia:

I found a way to farm alot of stygia. The weekly quest 'Return Lost Souls' gives 20 stygia every time you capture a lost soul. Before you reach 20 souls, you can abandon the quest (If you get all the souls the quest can no longer be abandoned). You can then gather the 19 souls again, getting 20 stygia per, abandon, repeat. This would have been possible last patch but since 9.1 removed The Eye of the Jailer, there is nothing preventing you from doing this all day.

I was tempted to describe this as a "dupe" because it feels a lot faster to farm stygia using this method, but it is really an accelerated farming method, albeit for a slightly niche currency.
