The White Tiger (Mage Only) (Patreon)

In my recent video on mage exploits I remarked cryptically that "the white tiger is very agile". This was a throwaway remark but it attracted a lot of interest.

The context of the remark was the farming opportunity offered by the "nice sprites" in the south of the Timeless Isle. When you activate a purple crystal next to the sprites they all turn hostile and you have a minute to kill as many as possible. They can drop a pet, timeless coins and lesser charms. All of these can be turned into gold in various ways. 

Even though TI is very old content now, it matters a great deal how fast you can kill the sprites. Now, not very far away is the court of the celestials where you can challenge one of four NPC's to battle. Xuen, the "white tiger" is one of them. Xuen has a very valuable buff that you can spellsteal called "agility" which gives you 300% haste for a minute. Unfortunately this buff can't be taken off the island - but you can use it to farm the sprites. 

If you aggro Xuen and wait about 15 seconds then spellsteal it with some practice you should be able to get to the sprite area in about 20-30 seconds, maybe faster with something like the darkmoon cannon. Then spam flamestrike with flame patch (fire is by far the best spec for this) -because you can literally cover every inch of the sprite spawn area.

Why are you doing this? There are several reasons. First there's a good chance of picking up the Dandelion Frolicker pet which is worth several thousand gold. 

Second, you get lesser charms of fortune: these can be turned into Commander Lo Ping in Townlong Steppes for elder charms of fortune. Elder charms can be used for bonus rolls in MOP raid content: that translates directly to a lot of extra gold since MOP raid content such as Heart Of Fear is by far the best source of raw gold and relatively fast selling items like spirits of harmony in the game.

for keys that open chests which contain vendorable weapons and armor and a chance at the quite valuable pet, Bonkers. 

Finally you will get the odd timeless cache dropping, which award vendorable weapons and armor.
