The following exploit requires two mages, one class trial can be used if necessary. In theory it is possible to use it with one account using method-zero type techniques but it probably is not practical to do it that way.

If a high-level mage casts a blazing barrier shield, a low-level mage, either of the opposite faction, or in a duel, may spellsteal this barrier. Spellsteal is available from level 70. The barrier does not scale down to the low-level mage's stats as you might expect, it keeps the original absorption of the flame barrier. This means the low-level mage is effectively invincible when attacked by mobs of an appropriate level.

Blazing barrier also deals damage to attackers. This part of the barrier works independently from the damage absorption. This works counter-intuitively: when the lowbie mage steals the barrier the tool-tip it states that the barrier will do 0 damage to attackers. In fact the barrier does do damage, if the high-level mage is present in the same instance or world zone then attacks against the low-level mage will do damage relative to the intellect of the high-level mage.

As long as the barrier holds the low-level mage is invincible and, if the high-level mage is present then enemies will mostly kill themselves attacking the lowbie mage.

This method can be used as a leveling strategy with the high-level and low-level mage in close proximity so that the low-level mage can constantly refresh the flame barrier. This allows the low-level mage to solo pve content they would not normally be able to easily.
