The generally accepted best farm in Draneor, the tamed clefthoof instant spawn at coordinates 78,70 in SouthEast Nagrand, is currently massively over-farmed. This itself creates an interesting opportunity for skinning.

On every realm I checked there were multiple players killing clefthoof's 24/7. Now the clefthoof's can be skinned, but most players don't bother. The hide isn't worth that much even if you have skinning.

This means if you are trying to level skinning you can just stand there mostly just spamming the skin button while the hides drop in front of you in huge piles. It is much faster than any publicly recommended method or guide. It can be done up to 800 but skinning upgrades noticeably slows down at 730 and drops to a crawl by 750. I would finish off the levelling of skinning in the Broken Isles and begin gaining skill ranks for the various Legion skins.

Obviously, you need a >level 98 character to do this for a range of practical reasons.

Note that the general principle here applies to any over-farming situation. If a given location has fast spawning animals, either now or in the future of wow, you'll be able to use the same technique. If the skins are valuable you'll also be able to make money, though as with the clefthoof farm the market corrects itself quite quickly and reduces the value of items in ready supply.
