NOTE: Pet battling bonus week begins tomorrow. This is a HUGE limited time opportunity. I consider this the most profitable gold-making opportunity I have ever published in the hands of an expert.

Several members expressed a problem with the recent post on gold making due to a lack of familiarity with pet battles. In fact no knowledge of the subject is necessary to make money, it just helps speed up the process. I thought I'd publish a simplified method aimed at non-pet battlers.

To illustrate the potential of this method, if you search for pet battle boosting services online you get a site that offers to level 5 pets to 25 for 22 euros, which is around $26 and £20. Last night I levelled over 20 pets in an hour using this method, not even using the method to its fullest extent (I used a limited number of buffs). Tomorrow with pet battle bonus experience at 300% I will be able to level 60! pets in an hour.  Anyway, the simplified method:

Purchase the "Boon Of The Zookeeper" enchantment from Draemus in the pet store in Dalaran and apply it to your shoulder armor. This will cause the item "Pile of Pet Goodies" to occassionally drop from mobs you kill. These contains two items of interest: Pet Charms and Lesser Pet Treats.

Pet Charms you should stack until you have a reasonable amount (say, 100). Lesser Pet Treats keep for later.

These items do not drop that frequently: the exact drop rate does not seem to be known but works at around 10-40 charms for me personally with 1 or 2 treats.

Next you need to acquire some pets if you do not have any: buy at least one cheap level 25 pet off the auction house, it does not really matter which. It helps but is not essential for the pet to be aquatic and have a healing ability. If you can afford it, buy more pets-mostly level 1 pets, though a few more level 25's will speed things up.

EDIT: Faeell Brightstar has pointed out that players without a level 25 pet cannot use or buy level 25's from the Auction House. You can obtain an instant level 25 from the garrison however (see Faeell's comment at the bottom of the article for a full and helpful explanation).

When you have gathered a critical mass of charms buy as many pet treats as you can, with the charms, again from the pet shop in Dalaran. Split each treat into a specific slot in your inventory-this is the key to the exploit and causes the pet treats to stack rather than simply refresh the duration. Apply each them to any battle pet, you have to summon the pet, click on the treat and then the pet.

The more patient you are the better your overall rate will be. With, say, 40-50 treats stacked virtually any pet battle against a high-level opponent will level a pet from 1-25 instantly. I've never quite had the patience for that but in my opinion less than 10 charms would be failing to take full advantage.

Use the garrison hearthstone on the character you boosted for Legion, or any character with a level 3 garrison in Draenor. You should have a menagerie in your garrison with a quest "Unearthed Magic". This quest simply involves finding a stone in the garrison which will boost a pet from level 1 to level 25 instantly. You will almost certainly have several level 1 pets from doing something in Azeroth already so use the stone on one of those-you will need to summon the pet, click on the stone and then on the pet to raise its level.

Now, we are going to have to do some (very simple) actual pet battling.

Set your mini-map to track pets and find a pet to battle out in the wild, look for a green symbol. Most pets in the wild can be beaten by any two level 25 pets, just using a "basic" attack. A basic attack is usually the first option on the pet "vehicle" bar.

Now, there are two important factors here. The first is that you must use two level 25 pets and one low-level pet which you will raise from level 1 to level 25. This low-level pet must survive at least one round against high-level wild pets. This can be difficult when the pet is level 1. You will need to use a protective ability. There are many such pet abilities-if you want to use the method I use buy the "Mechanical Pet Dragonling" off the AH or make one with engineering. The Dragonling has an ability called "Decoy" which makes your pet battle team immune for two rounds: during this time you can switch in your level 1 pet.

The second factor is that the pets do not regain all their health after a battle. You can reset their health after 8 minutes or so but there may be some unprofitable downtime if some of your pet team die or get low on health during this period. This becomes much less of a problem after you have levelled a few pets as you can simply use the ones you have levelled instead. During the early stages it is a good idea to stay near to a pet battle trainer who can reset the health of all your pets instantly.

If you are running out of pets to level then use the "trap" feature" to catch the pet you are fighting in the wild, and then level the pets you trap.

You will be able to make a lot of gold selling the pets you level on the auction house. This will not be instantaneous unless you are on a high pop realm-they can take a while to sell. That said, it is nothing like as difficult as trying to sell transmog. An alternative strategy for low pop realms is to make a level 1 character on a high pop realm, sell the pets there (your pets are available to you on all realms), and then buy a wow token. If you don't want to use the token you can sell it for gold on your own realm.

A more detailed knowledge of pet battling will help you make gold even faster. This is beyond the scope of a specialist exploit Patreon hub. "Xu-fu's Pet Battle Guides" has more detailed information if you are curious.

Using the above simplified method you should be able to make around 60K an hour worth of boosted pets. This does not include time spent farming charms which should be done as part of your natural world quest rotation.
