The following method is very simple to use in principle and can create small quantities of instant raw gold with literally a few clicks of a mouse. However, to make very significant quantities of gold per hour using this method, is very possible, but requires more effort and analysis.

Simple Example

I buy one junk item fluorescent fluid

for 63 silver.

I then sell it for 1 silver.

Other people also begin to sell this item at 1 silver. I buy their items. I then vendor them.

200 fluorescent fluids* are posted-I buy these for 1 silver each (2 gold) and vendor them

for 124 gold (62 silver 14 bronze X 200).

I make 122 gold with a few clicks.

The Basic Method

The basic method is simply this :

1. Find an item on the auction house and buy it. This can be anything but ideally:

i. It should have a decent vendor price (around 50 silver is ideal).

ii. There should be thousands or tens of thousands of it.

iii. It should be junk or have low utility.

2. Buy the item and immediately sell it for 1 silver or below.

3. Sometimes your order will be bought up immediately in which case go to 1.

4. Sometimes other people will post items for the same value.. When they do buy up their items quickly. Vendor them.

Expert Methods

The first few times you tried this you may have got really excited about seeing hundreds of cheap items posted and then seeing the returns as you bought and sold them.

Unfortunately of course a lot of the time your item gets bought out and the market stabilizes. Sometimes it takes several minutes for people to post items. This cuts down on your gold per hour. greatly.

There are several ways to keep your gold per hour up.

1. Post multiple different items.

By doing this with multiple items at once you can greatly increase your gold returns per hour -above any other source of raw gold. There are only so many junk items with high volume so you may need to find other items - this can get complicated because these have some value and the market price isn't as random and volatile.

If I were to post all the items I have tried this strategy with patreons would all focus on those items and this strategy would not be viable-so to go beyond the simple strategy I have described you are going to have do some testing yourselves (sorry there is no way round this).

2. Do something else at the same time.

If you can fill in a few minutes doing something else you don't have to waste time waiting for people to post orders. For example you might be crafting items with your profession skills.

Any gold you make using the trading strategy will be in addition to your profits from crafting. This technique is very powerful when combined with something else because the actual effort required from you is very low, literally only a few clicks. The only issue is the downtime between trades.

Additional Information

A few tips:

1. This seems to work better off-peak.

2. Posting at 1 silver seems to alert some players that something is wrong and cause them to investigate and buy you and the other 1 silver posters out. You might try posting slightly higher amounts.

3. Items with utility such as cloth have high volume but seem to attract more price-sensitive traders.

4. You can make small losses if your 1 silver posting is bought out repeatedly. However these small losses are dwarfed by the vendor sales of the items you will eventually sell. (pretentious jargon warning: this is called "statistical arbitrage" by clever people in universities, google that term if you want to look into this further-it is a very powerful way to make money in the real world).

Ethics

While I have no moral constraints where corporations such as Blizzard are concerned, I try not to harm other players unless they annoy me in some way or I really want to**. In this case however no one is really losing out. When I vendor trash items I am doing so because doing so is faster than deleting them-I don't care about small quantities of silver or gold.

*Don't try and trade this specific item right after this article is published. If more than a few of you start trading it at the same time it won't work.

**This is humor.
