Vampiric Desires Chapter 11 [NOVEL] (Patreon)

The minutes stretched on as Sela stayed there, perched atop the coffin.
The silence in the room was thick, yet surprisingly, she found herself oddly at ease even though she was alone inside a windowless room with the company of a coffin. Was it because she now recognized this room as the only safe hiding place in the entire house at the moment?
Now that the panic and fear that had consumed her only moments ago finally ebbed, her mind started to think much clearer.
Her eyes surveyed the room, and she couldn’t help but feel amazed at the realization that it looked actually nice, rather than scary. If the coffin weren’t here, no one might ever think that the place was eerie. Well… maybe.
She could even see seemingly precious things like vases, candelabras, and even the ancient-looking cups. Were those actually made of real gold?
Her gaze then zeroed in on what looked like treasure chests in the corner, and her mind immediately thought of gold or hidden treasures. Damn… if those contained treasure, she could become really rich and she could keep this lovely house for herself forever!
But Sela buried her face in her palms and sighed. She knew that there was no way that would be possible. There was just definitely a limit to the luck a person could have, right?
But seriously? Why was she thinking about treasures in this situation?
Someone definitely inhuman had just entered her house! She couldn’t even imagine what they had already destroyed in her beloved abode!
Now here she was again, back in this room she thought was nothing but a dream. And the vampire who was supposed to be stuck in this room was gone. Oh god… and she thought that fictional man couldn’t leave this place?
The only logical explanation she could come up with at the moment was that she was in another nightmare that had started the moment she fell asleep in her bed. All the events that happened from the moment she was awakened by that loud sound until now shouldn’t be real despite how realistic it all felt.
“Seriously…” Sela took a deep breath, talking to herself. “Seems like this house is really haunted, huh? The only difference is that I won’t get haunted by ghosts but by insanely realistic dreams and nightmares.”
Suddenly feeling a surge of weakness, Sela let herself lie sideways on top of the black coffin. She wanted to just fall back to sleep so that she’d wake up soon in her bed. Once she wakes up, she’d rethink everything regarding the house. She really needed to convince herself to finally give the house up and just sell it as soon as possible because… well, not only because of the fact that she might not be able to sustain its expenses but also because of these… nightmares. What if these dreams never end? What if she’ll be driven insane in the end?
“Damn…” she cursed, smiling in disbelief. “And here I thought I was finally living my dream life.”
Another deep sigh escaped her lips as she turned and stared up at the ceiling. Another surprise welcomed her as she discovered how high the ceiling of the room actually was. There was even a vintage chandelier up there. She could already imagine how beautiful it would be if it were lit up.
Her mind then drifted back to that handsome vampire as she thought of the fact that this was his view while lying in his coffin.
Suddenly, she wished he was here with her. Because this might truly be the last time she'll ever see or be with him again.
“Where are you?” she muttered absentmindedly as she imagined his glorious face. “I want you here… want you to touch me… hold me in your arms again… for the last time–”
A loud bang startled her, causing her to shoot up to a sitting position as her eyes flew towards the door.
Her heart stopped. But not with fear. Just shocked surprise.
Because the vampire she wanted was right there, now leaning against the closed door like a sexy god from hell, smiling devilishly at her.
“Such an obedient lady you are...” he said with a rich, velvety tone, advancing towards her with an elegance that seemed to belong to another era.
His veiny hand tenderly cradled her face, compelling her gaze to meet his. “I had presumed that you might have fled, yet here you remain... faithfully awaiting my return like the most devoted creature."
With the gentlest of motions, his thumb grazed her full lips while his deep crimson eyes sparkled with an enthralling luster. “It appears to me you are well deserving of some reward from my person… Would you not agree, angel?”
