IMDD CHAPTER 260 (Patreon)

"I'm done!" Gaia exclaimed, urging Gage to look into the small pink mirror she held in front of his face.
When Gage saw his hair in a neat, tight Dutch braid, he blinked, looking somewhat unsure of how to react.
"It looks like a horn. A beautiful horn here at the back," Gaia said with a wide grin, proud of her creation.
Gage, obviously still a bit taken aback by his new hairstyle, cleared his throat awkwardly. But his reaction was interrupted when he suddenly noticed Eva snapping a photo of the two of them.
As though he was suddenly a little shy about being seen by Eva with his new hairstyle, he quickly turned his face away, his hand flying up to cover his lower face in a subtle manner.
Eva pressed her lips together, holding herself back from swooning at the thought that Gage was actually being shy!
"It's a great look, Gage.” Eva praised. “Gigi has done an amazing job."
Gaia beamed at Eva. "Mommy, doesn't he look like a king? I told him he's King Daddy and I'm Princess Gaia!"
Eva smiled warmly at her daughter. "He absolutely looks like a king, and you're the most wonderful princess.”
“And of course, you’re the queen, mommy!” Gaia said before looking at Gage who was still facing away from where Eva stood. “Right, daddy? Mommy’s the queen, right?”
“Yes… she is,” Gage responded without glancing at Eva or removing his hand from his lower face.
“See? And Daddy promised we'd be visiting his kingdom when I grow up!”
Gaia’s words made Eva’s smile falter a little as she looked at Gage. Somehow, she could just tell from Gage’s demeanor that he must’ve just been forced to agree with everything Gaia had wanted, perhaps because he didn’t have the heart to make her sad. Still, she quickly smiled wider once again, glad that Gage was doing his best to make Gaia happy.
"I think we should have a family selfie,” Eva suddenly proposed. “Right, Gigi?"
Gaia's response was immediate and enthusiastic. Her face brightened. "Yes!" she exclaimed, and the mother and daughter quickly positioned themselves for a selfie. Gaia positioned herself snugly between Eva and Gage, her small body a bridge connecting them.
Eva turned to Gage, her eyes gentle yet encouraging. "Gage?" she prompted, and thankfully, Gage finally turned his face forward.
Holding her phone up, Eva prepared to capture the moment when Gaia noticed Gage's hand still partly shielding his face and reached up to gently guide it away. "Your hand, Daddy," she said softly, her touch careful.
Then, with a bright smile, Gaia encouraged him further, "Say 'cheese', Daddy."
Seeing the collective gaze of both Eva and the little girl through the phone’s screen, Gage complied. "Cheese," he uttered, the word barely more than a whisper. Though he didn't smile fully, his eyes softened.
Eva quickly snapped the photo, brimming with utter joy at the thought and reality that they, the three of them, had finally taken a family photo.
“Once more,” she said, taking more. There was no way she’d just stop with a single selfie now. No way. She would take as many photos of them as possible! She would never make the same mistake in the past.
“Mommy, daddy’s head is cut.” Gaia told her, and Eva finally noticed that, due to Gage’s size, he was not able to fully fit on the phone’s screen.
“I think it’s better if you’re the one to take the shots, Gage.” Eva gave him the phone, and thankfully, Gage quietly took it, lifted it up, and tapped the capture button.
“Let’s have more!” Eva grinned. “How about some wacky?”
“Yes!” Gaia seconded happily, and she started making a dorky expression. “Daddy, you too!”
Gage simply took as many shots, so Eva wound her arm around his neck and pinched his cheeks.
Gaia giggled, and Eva also laughed upon seeing Gage’s expression through the phone’s screen.
After several more minutes of blissful selfie sessions, the trio finally settled down as they all looked at their pictures.
Eva was now between Gaia and Gage, swiping their photos, occasionally saying, ‘aw, so cute’, while Gaia remained animated, giggling with happiness.
