But eventually, she pinched the skin between her brows and sighed out helplessly. The way he asked was just too adorable that she just could not help it.

“Fine.” As soon as she gave in, Gage squeezed her in another hug. She felt the way his body seemed to relax after that and she could only wrap her arms around his head and hugged it.

The feeling of them like this was just… amazing. He was so warm and just like him, she could feel her muscles all unwinding and loosening up the longer she stayed in his arms. And now she felt like she did not want to go back to her room yet. Or at all, if she was honest with herself.

Oh god… she would not get addicted to cuddling with him like this too, would she?

She sighed at the realization that that was not actually that far from happening. If she was not already since she was now wanting to just stay in his arms like this.

As she tried to move herself, wanting to press her body even closer to his, Gage gripped her hip suddenly. His body tensed up again.

And then, it finally came to Eva’s attention that he was still… so hard.

She swallowed at the feel of his heat that was pressing into her. That feeling returned in an instant. No, it was as though it had never left and was just waiting for her to acknowledge it.

“Don’t move, Eva.” His voice was deep and firm again. And she could catch the tightness in his tone.

When he lifted his gaze, she bit on her lower lip a little guiltily. She really wanted to be naughty. To grind herself against him. To do anything to relieve this unfamiliar ache yet quickly becoming a familiar one to her. But she wanted to respect his wish now. Even though she did not quite understand anything or know anything about his reason, she did not want to do anything that would force him to do something that he was desperately trying to avoid.

“I know I was the one who made moves on you first.” He continued. “But I have been confident I can resist you. That I could at least stop myself from actually…” he paused for a while, before abandoning the completion of his sentence. “But obviously, it’s easier said than done.”

He uttered a breathy curse as he smiled helplessly, leaning his head against the door behind him. His eyes sparkling and darkening with desire at the same time.

“I had gotten so out of control that even the simplest thing you do is enough to get me damned hard. Making me want to just pin you against anything as long as it won’t hurt you and… make you mine.” Those sparkles in his eyes ignited into a dark wildfire. And she was consumed by it almost so naturally. As if she was meant to get burned by him.

“But I can’t give in. Not after all these…” he paused again. The way he looked at her as he flashed a crooked smile made Eva’s heart leap into her throat. “Not until I can finally call you, my wife.”

Oh dear gods in heaven, help her…!

Worried that she might recklessly grab him and kiss him against his will, Eva chose to bury her head into the crook of his shoulder instead.

“If… if I marry you now… what’s to happen next? To us?” she honestly did not know why that was the first question she had uttered. She only wanted to keep talking, hoping for something to diffuse the flame and the growing and aching desire deep inside her.

“That would be us, going on a long honeymoon, of course!” he replied in an instant. She could actually hear the wide grin in his excited voice. “And then we’ll go buy our new home if you don’t like it here. We need something that is going to be the perfect place for our children to –”

“Wait!” Eva almost violently covered his lips with her hand to stop him from talking. Oh my god… why was he talking about children? Already?!?
