Eva noticed the way he seemed to hold his breath the moment she hugged him.

She had been anticipating a devilish grin and some sort of mischievous comment from him as he usually does, but he surprised her by remaining as still as a log, offering no reaction at all.

At that moment, she found herself at a loss on how to react. She was left feeling uncertain and bewildered by Gage's behavior. Gage's actions seemed to keep growing more and more strange lately, most especially tonight that Eva struggled to make sense of what was happening and could not figure out the best way to respond.

Eva had hugged Gage with full awareness of the consequences. She had made it abundantly clear that the embrace was intentional. And given Gage's sharp intuition, she knew that there was no way he would not have picked up on the fact that she had done it on purpose.

And yet, Gage's reaction had been completely unexpected. Eva found herself wondering what his behavior meant and why he was responding in such an unusual way. What was going on? Did he feel uncomfortable?

Eva's uncertainty was so intense that she found herself completely still and unable to move. She was at a loss as to what action to take next, even struggling to decide whether to remove her arm from around Gage and leave or stay put. The weight of her indecision left her feeling frozen.

Her longing for Gage had been growing more and more insistent as of late. The memory of his touch in the office had left her in a state of need, and even a cold shower had done little to ease the ache she had felt growing deep in the lower part of her tummy, very much like a gnawing black hole. And as they made their way home, Eva had been hoping that Gage would make a move on her, but so far, he had yet to do anything.

When she was in the shower earlier, her mind kept wandering to thoughts of Gage. She could not seem to shake off the images of his touch, his kiss, and the intense intimacy that they could share together. Eva was left wondering when exactly she had started having these illicit thoughts, and how long she would be able to keep them under control. Even thinking about it now, she was already tempted to pounce on him and act on her imaginations.

Gage had introduced Eva to a level of pleasure she had never known before, and ever since that moment, she had found herself craving those intense sensations again and again. It was as if she had become addicted to the feeling, unable to resist the urge to seek it out once more.

She remembered how he had responded when Jessa threw herself at him. His face had contorted into a grimace when he told her how disgusted he was with the cheap way Jessa behaved. Would she then garner the same reaction?

But then Eva remembered that she had warned him about herself before. She had given Gage fair warning about her tendencies. However, at the time, she had been thinking primarily about her possessiveness and darker aspects, not her intense carnal desires for him.
