Her lips met his with a fierce passion, and for a moment, Gage's body froze in surprise. Eva knew she had to nip this in the bud. As much as she was flattered at the way he was so eager to avenge her, she could not allow him to get into trouble just for the sake of getting even with Julian. Julian wasn’t worth Gage’s reputation!

“Forget about that bastard, Gage. Kiss me instead.” She murmured against his lips. And when Eva slid her tongue inside his mouth, it was as though his beast mode was turned on.

He cursed against her mouth and returned her kiss with a vengeance. His kiss was so wild and devouring and still angry. But Eva could not help but like this roughness too. She wondered why everything this man did, be it gentle or rough, just felt so so good. It was as if he could never do wrong to her.

Gage's hunger was almost palpable. He kissed her with a raw intensity that left Eva gasping for breath. She could feel his anger still simmering just beneath the surface, but it only added to the heat of the moment.

As his tongue slipped demandingly into her mouth, Eva moaned softly, her body responding to his every touch. She could not help but revel in the roughness of his embrace and the way his hands gripped her waist, pulling her closer.

“F**k, Eva.” he cursed, his eyes still glazed over from the effects of their earlier kiss. “Get inside the car.” His order was the complete opposite of what his eyes were actually screaming at her.

She tiptoed instead to kiss him again when he suddenly turned her around. Eva's heart thudded as Gage's hand tightened around her neck, pressing her back against him. Despite the danger in his touch, she felt a shiver of desire jolt through her body.

“Listen to me, darling.” he whispered in her ear, his voice a mix of pleading and danger. And she felt her rationality slipping away. The gaze in her eyes now blurred, showing how affected she was, just by his touch and his voice. She wanted nothing more than to give herself completely to him, right here, right now.

“But I want to… kiss you more.” Eva mewled and her hands crept up his arms.

“Not now.” And his other hand grabbed onto both her hands, effectively stopping them in their tracks.

“Why?”

“Because I’m… in a really dangerous mood.” Gage growled low at her as he gave Eva a pointed look.

“I’m not going to be scared of you if that’s what you’re worrying about. I think I love your roughness too. It’s… hot.” She uttered, and she felt him catch his breath as he cursed inaudibly.

Gage's grip on Eva's waist tightened at her words, and she could feel the intensity of his desire growing with every passing moment. But his voice was low and rough when he spoke next.

"It's not about being scared of me, Eva," he said. From the way he was clenching his teeth while trying to explain things to her, Eva knew he was really doing his best to hold back.

Eva looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with desire and faith. "I'm not afraid of you, Gage," she whispered. "I trust you completely."

“Don’t get the wrong idea, darling. I’m going to kiss you senseless to erase any filthy remnant from that man… I’ll kiss your lips all night if that's what it takes. I just want us to reach home first before I lose control and actually do all that to you… right here, right now.”

She blushed hard, finally realizing where they were.

“I already washed my lips.” She said, trying to fight her embarrassment. “I even used antibacterial soap and gargled antibacterial mouthwash.”

“That’s nowhere near enough for me to consider you've been disinfected from that vermin. Now get in before I forget where we are.” That last warning had Eva quickly scooting back into the car with reddened cheeks.
