By the time Eva next opened her eyes, she was surprised to find herself back in her room. Springing up from her bed, she snapped at the clock, only to have her jaw drop at the sight of the time. What?! It was already morning?! She’s going to be late again?!

“Gage…” she grumbled as she clenched her fist, her eyes blazing with frustration. “Didn’t you say you were going to wake me up? You big liar!”

Fuming, Eva headed to Gage’s room and stormed right in to scold him. But just like last time, the man wasn’t there! She had hoped that he was still on his bed like usual, enjoying his sleep like the lazy rich heir that he claimed he was. At least then, it would be better since they were both going to be late. The other employees would simply think that she was late because of her boss, but now… Oh gods…

Dealing with workplace dramas were one of the things she hated the most. She already knew how much headache it could cause. It was such a pain in the ass so she was tying her best to avoid it like the plague. Now it’s highly possible that her peaceful time as the CEO secretary might be ending very soon.

“Ugh… that little big devil!”

Grumpily, Eva quickly went and ate her breakfast. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for her. It was then that the butler politely spoke to her as always.

“Miss, please slow down and enjoy your meal.”

“I’m sorry, but I’m really running late right now.”

Unapologetically, she stuffed more of her unfinished food into her mouth. Really, eating her breakfast wasn’t even in her mind at the moment. Although, she knew that Gage would stop whatever it was that he was working on just to make sure she eats. Even the butler and the maids practically begged her to eat more, dramatically acting like their life would end if she wouldn’t eat whatever it was that they prepared for her.

“But Miss… the Master ordered us to make sure you eat,” the butler pleaded. “We don’t want to get fired...”

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell him. And this is his fault anyway… That little liar,” Eva secretly scoffed as he stabbed her fork into her food. She then stood up and asked, “When did he even start waking up so early anyway? He was definitely lying when he said that he’s lazy isn’t it, Mr. Park?”

“Err…” the butler blinked. “The truth is… for all the years I’ve been serving him, this is the first time I saw him being this hardworking. Sir Gage always lazes around whenever I saw him, so I believe you are the one who influenced him to be like this.”

Upon arriving, Eva had already prepared herself for the kind of look the other employees were going to throw at her. When she entered the elevator, three women were there with her. They brazenly eyed her from head to toe, whispering to each other just loud enough to make sure that she could hear them.

“Who does she think she is? Does she think she’s the CEO’s wife?” one of them started.

“Right? The audacity... I really hate bitches like her.”

“I hate that our CEO is just like everyone else..." another quipped. “Falling in love with their vixen secretaries. How cliché!”

“Or maybe the vixen just seduced him,” the other woman guessed. “Perhaps even blackmailed him?”

The first woman nodded. “That’s what I honestly believe too. Vixens like her are like witches, after all. And I don’t think Mr. Acheron is the type to just fall for women like her.”

“I just hope Mr. Acheron will wake up soon and throw this vixen back to where she belongs,” the third one mockingly whispered, rolling her eyes.

They giggled mockingly at her. When one of them started talking again, Eva finally turned around and faced them.
