Back with more First Knife II pencils (which I desperately need to start inking, at some point!)

This was a much anticipated page that I was really thrilled to get to do - and also scared shitless of actually draw. And now it is finally here - at least in pencils, that is!

This page also contains a little reference to one of my favorite movies - "White Sun of The Desert" -

- and the way the page turned out actually got me thinking about cinematic storytelling in comics. Because I do love my silly widescreen Marky Mark/Frank Q panels , but on the completely different side of the spectrum, we have pages like this one, which just... feature scenes that feels cinematic, I guess? Not in a "storyboard for a movie scene" way, but the drama and slapstick of the actual scene here make me hope that the scene comes alive in a very particular way, fitting my filmic sensibilities.

Also - big props to mon ami Guy Pradel for inspiring me (to put it mildly!) to put the store backroom in isometric view. Please go and follow his page because he is INCREDIBLE with this - and so much more - cool stuff!
