So, this kinda happened (Patreon)

I don't feel really strongly about this thing one way another (because, as I often have to reiterate - I don't care about piracy, plagiarism, "art theft" and other completely normal digital background things that modern artists are supposed to care), other than maybe a slightly icky feeling that someone betrayed a bit of my trust here? Like, a sort of social contract was definitely broken, but it's not the end of the world, and also I completely understand why piracy websites exist (I mean, I use them myself all the time, just not for this sort of content).

Recently I've been dealing with a few bouts of online stalking/harassment from the same bunch of sad Russian 4chan losers who's been randomly jumping me from time to time for the last 8 or so years. Last couple of times they used anonymous accounts and approached me with more or less random, if not aloof questions, so it took me a while to figure out what was going on. And this realization was pretty stressful, simply because as a cis/white/male(with a relatively small audience) I'm just not used to that kinds of mind games and online threats. Someone being obsessed with me because of something that I do or what I said years ago is just not something I can really wrap my mind about.

So, knowing that someone anonymous was poking around this patreon (maybe they're reading this right now!) makes it feel... kinda invasive, maybe? There's no signs of obsession, of course thank god - just an impulse to scrap/catalogue/pirate the content you have access too. And remembering how some, let's say gullible people frame random clicks and views on readcomicsonline-type websites as a personal affront and blow to their economy, id' prefer not to frame this as something out of ordinary, or an affront to anything mine at all.
