(continued from here)

Alright, this goes out to the real heads (and I can't keep it for myself anymore longer %))

Recently, a webcomic platform approached Steve Orlando and me with a proposition to host our very first Image comics book, Undertow (not sure when exactly it's gonna happen, tho). I have extremely mixed feeling about my work on the book, but I know I'm not the best authority in this question, and, seeing how many people in my audience seem to be fond of the book - to this day! - I begrudgingly agreed... On one condition - for them to let me make another version of the very first cover for the book!

And so:

And for the reference - here's the original cover:

I was always proud of the color choice and composition on the cover, but felt that it fell short of it's own iconic imagery because my style and technique wasn't quite there yet. Like, literally, a month after it got published, I was dying to one day remake it - and now I am immensely happy that the gestalt is finally closed.

(Also, if you're interested - the old original art is long, long gone, but the new version is up for sale! DM if you're interested)

Thank you, brate! The other thing I'd love to do is to fix my garish colors on YOUR cover, haha XD

Undertow was the first time I saw your art and it’s wild to see how clearly it still looks like YOU while being so different from the style you eventually settled with.

That's amazing! Also cool to see this book going around again.
