(this is still my favorite Second Knife joke, because it perfectly encapsulates my actual feeling!)

Still having a blast working on First Knife II with absolutely no restrains, deadlines, or obligations. Most excitingly (I mean, most excitingly for me!) I am now officially co-writing the story with Dan, while Simon is taking a bit of a backseat for patriarchal overseeing, editing, and just being the All-Father of Knife in general. So, at least as far as the first two or three issues are concerned, it's gonna be a Bensen and Trakhanov joint! With Daniel giving it all his best as a proper, real-life writer, and me taking the maximum responsibility for clarity and readability of the story in comics form (which is kinda funny because un-clarity and un-readability of my art is always one of the major point of critique for any comics I do).

As an acting captain of the crime family, I already did a kinda unprecedented - for me! - amount of planning and writing for our opening chapters. None of my previous projects - be it my old-ass Mad Blade webcomics or anything from Slavic Nihilism - have ever involved me on so many levels of planning. Page layouts, scene flow, lore, dialogue details, dosage of important story information - I'm trying to hold aaaaall this stuff under control for the most optimal First Knife II experience.

So: we have a story, we have a plan (as murky as it is); I think we have an audience (you're here reading this, right?) We have multiple ways of getting the story out into the world available to us (I'd say, there are more of these ways now than there were when we were publishing Volume I?) So I can feel the roadmap for having the book done and out in the world forming in front of our eyes. We just gotta go on! And I'm  loving the feeling.

This is exciting. Tell Simon to start pulling his weight tho. Jeez.
