I love seeing the way it comes together. Did you know the palms would be in the final when you drew that first version, with the blue and pink?

Yep! First two pictures represent my digital sketch - I used pink to mask the background behind Corto’s figure so I could move it around, if needed; and then I dropped the grey shadows (before printing out the pencils for me to ink) so I could see how it all will look together after inking and rendering the shading. My sketches are very rarely as detailed and thought out, tho, hehe :)
