"Chernobýl" 36-38 (Patreon)

This week I have a real treat for you to make up for last week's lack of Nihilism posts! Here we go:

Kinda cool, eh? Eh?! And you have no idea how many dang screen caps of different videos of all kinds of wannabee cossacks I took and sketched through to figure out this (and next) pages. For me it was the crucial moment for the story - a while back I even tweeted a bunch of thoughts about how much I love the idea of our main character being good in one very specific thing, taking great pride in it, and finally getting a chance to show off his skills. For him this weapon is not about killing people, but proving his worth and doing his "art" even with one arm.

Ands because of my ambitions, next page after this one was a real nightmare to figure out. I had this TANGO page from Corto:

 ... as the only thing it could be compared to in my mind, and kinda shot myself in the foot with that reference, haha. Stay tuned to see the result, I guess!

What else?

Well, a couple of days ago I had a meltdown which ended up in a very confusing tweet. This tweet immediately got interpreted in a very wrong way and required some further explanation.

And you probably guessed correctly - it was my boy Dmitry who decided that one of the pages he did for our Nihilism story was "terrible", and (after looong considering on his side, mind you!) he torn the poor page to pieces. Of course he then proceeded to draw another version of it, much more fitting to his vision of the scene, but still I was goddamn heartbroken. The page was 500% on point, if you ask me, and even with the second version being weirder, eerier and overall better, now I will never be able to forget the first one. Or hang it on my wall, you know! F U C K . So yeah, I love Dmitry, but it was baaaaad. Artists are fucking weirdos.

What's good?

On top of my take on that Tango page, for the next Nihilism post here I'll assemble a proper preview of our second story! And I hope you'll enjoy it. My head got a few white hairs because of it!
