I thought I'd show the color versions of Angela's weight gain path. It also highlights the changes I made to my coloring methods. As I mentioned earlier, the focus for the AMLs was speed. These were bite-size commissions meant to flow into one another as easily as possible. That, at the time, meant no line weight and flat colors. Oh, how times have changed! Even in the early days, I felt I needed a little shading to capture Angela's increasing roundness (drawings 4 & 5). By the end, I even did a little lighting. I'm much more confident with a tablet now than I was then, even if I still don't draw or ink with one.

Angela looks so cuddly, I can see Winry using her as a beanbag chair, or one of those Snorlax pillows.

It was never something I thought I’d do that much, and even in those early ones I had to sketch it a few time to get the proportions right. It’s real easy to draw weight gain but also make the subject grow too much in height. There’s still a skeleton in there!
