Having actually gotten this game now, I can kind of agree...this game barely feels like a metroid game at all @_@. I'm only just now being able to KIND OF handle minor enemies without feeling annoyed, and that's because I got the spazer beam @_@. The damage non boss enemies do and take in this game is ABSURD.

Yeah, I definitely drew this pre-Spazer. I’d argue that it still feels enough like a Metroid game. This was always the black sheep of the original trilogy for its weird structure. It’s a hell of a lot more of a Metroid than Other M, but that’s not saying much. But with so much content locked behind Amiibos, I’m not really excited to replay it.
