Ballistic (Patreon)

Ballistic was one of the first superheroes I created; he's still undergoing some changes as I refine his look or can find better props for him. He's a cocky gun-toting college freshman who has a penchant for getting himself into situations he can't easily get out of.

Critical to doing him was finding a decent shader for latex/rubber and being able to deal with all the reflections - strong colored light in his vicinity will tend to leave large sections of color splashed over him for that reason, which detracts from the black color.

This series (BALLISTIC LAB) is one of the first series that I did where I felt everything was starting to come together. Lighting was still a bit off here and there; the above pic is too dark, for instance.
