Welcome to Vapore. The Sapphire of the Western Sky. The last remaining relic of the World That Was before the Cataclysm tore it apart nearly 300 years ago.

The magical barrier erected round the city kept it safe from the initial impact, a testament to the strength of the original inhabitants. While this was once a city of peerless mages wielding impossible magics, now only the architecture remains - a reminder of all the knowledge lost and locked away. The current residents may call themselves Vapori in name, but they know very little about the true nature of their city.

Many great towers remained sealed with arcane locks and strange alleyways remain untrodden for stories of magical mishaps occurring in them spread like wildfire. Sailors swear they see apparitions haunt their docked ships round the hours of dimlight and creatures have been known to crawl from unseen crevices into the heart of the city itself. For all its majesty, Vapore is a city alive with ghost stories and magical mysteries that excite the imaginations of relic hunters and occult followers alike.

None of this would catch the attention of the trader or traveler passing through, however. So leave your airship docked at the harbor, adventurer, and enjoy a stroll up town. Pay little mind to the densely packed dwellings and gray-brown water that marks the city’s outer rim as you make your way up to higher rings with higher classes that have more to offer you.

In the central market, you can find all sorts of coveted texts and magical trinkets of varying efficacy to take back across the skysea with you. Make it a point to find time to relax in one of the city’s enchanted hotsprings or take a stroll past one of the city’s scenic waterfalls as the sun dips beneath the clouds.

Sitting atop it all, on the upper crust, where the water flows purest, is the Loreseekers domain. Only members of the council and students of the arcane college may tread there. The waters thundering down perpetually from within the mountain’s belly, disappearing behind gated walls, only add to the layers of intrigue that surround it.

As you board your airship and get ready to continue your journey elsewhere, you will get the feeling that you left the city with more questions than when you arrived. You’re certain that you’ll be back again.
