Tonight is opening night of the school play, so sometime this week I get to go watch my kid's black-clad arm pull a curtain around or something while other people's kids sing. Fortunately the school has a really good program and their musicals are usually fantastic. They knocked Les Misérables out of the park a couple of years ago. Although Experiment #1 is a Large Ham, Experiment #2 prefers to work backstage. He's still got the Ham genes, but in a less "onstage" way.

I've been seeing a lot of rabbits around the neighborhood and it's making me happy, which is good. My knee still hurts like crazy, so the rabbits are a nice distraction. I saw a coyote walk down the street in front of my house the other night too, that was amazing. I just happened to look down from the windows at around 2 AM and there he went. I know they're out there because I can hear them yelling to each other at night, but seeing one was extra special.

I can also hear seals sometimes. A long time ago I was lying in bed with the windows open, and I turned to Phil and said "I heard a seal bark!" and to my delight he got the Thurber reference.

Have a lovely weekend!
