Also, funny that the first thing you mentioned about Frodo's actor was the resemblance to Harry Potter, because during the years Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings came out, that was the exact comparison made by loads of people! Don the reason Frodo felt like he had to go off alone was because he wanted to protect his friends. He knew how dangerous the journey to Mordor would be and that the ring would eventually corrupt them (like it had Boromir).
