So Gotham is a mix of 3-ish cities, New York, Chicago and some part (probably just all) of New Jersey; predominantly New York imo Although I've said that Gotham is New York to people and they start arguing with me that they've never even considered that and it can't be right

I think people dont relate it to new york because of the missing skyline. But I derinetly agree it reminds me a lot of the more urban areas

This move shined a huge light on men's mental illness and how society reacts to it. It got a lot of hate when it came out from the media but the movie was very successful

that's the point though, it shows neurotypical people what it'd really like when they look down on people who are truly different. its what woke the world up from the idea that mentally Ill people should behave as though they arent

Each iteration of Gotham is a bit different. This one and The Batman lean more towards New York. In fact the stairs scene was shot in the Bronx(been there myself). But the dark knight movies relied heavily on a Chicago look being shot there. The BvS/Justice League Gotham is more of a unique take with Gotham being a twin city with Metropolis(which is not normal in most DC universes) kind of like San Francisco and Oakland.

A lot of times I look at Gotham more like if Pittsburgh really sucked. Especially since that's where a lot of batman stuff was filmed.
