don you gotta watch the godzilla movies leading up to the kong vs zilla battle and thus kong and the other kong not related at all this is apart of the monsterverse its kinda like fox hulk n mcu hulk type of situation except not at all connected

Don, King Kong 2005 was set during the depression era. 1930s. Skull Island is after that as they are talking Vietnam. A good indicator is to Look at the difference in the clothes and cars they are driving. 2005 is a reimagining of the original movies that had King Kong scale the Empire State building. It was the tallest building in the world at that time which was the appeal of using it. The originals are in the early part of the 20th century when this was the case. This one is not.

If you can fit it in between, I'd recommend watching Shin Godzilla as well. It's not part of the "Monsterverse" per se, but it's one of the best Kaiju movies of the last decade, imo.

I am 10 minutes in (when man did the research) don please...they're separate universes and not connected at all, skull island doesn't take place after or before king Kong they're two different sagas, this movie is part of the Godzilla universe, hence why Godzilla is the next movie to watch 😁
