i always saw it as jerry shooting himself becuase he couldn't handle the knowledge. just makes more sence. the whole purpose was to trade intellect/mind, not trade souls/consciousness.

I mean even if they just swapped intelligence Rick would still know how to use his own cybernetics. I'm pretty sure they literally swapped minds which is the consciousness. The real question is why the computer didn't just analyze the DNA in the brain matter and piece it back that way since Rick and Jerry and entirely unrelated
