The dementors were Rowling's analogy for depression and is personally my favorite representation in all media thus far. You can't control them, they take away your ability to be happy and sane, and they even leave you in a cold hell. They're in Azkaban so they can make the cells cold as hell and constantly make everyone positively miserable... And they threw my man Hagrid in there in Chamber of Secrets 😡

its never stated in the movies, but in the books, professor McGonagall had to get special permission from the ministy of magic to allow hermione to use a time-turner for the purpose of attending more classes than time could allow. and because of her academic record she was allowed to use the time-turner. she returns the time-turner at the end of term, as it isnt something she is allowed to keep.

Don at the 1:54:00 mark, the reason they don't use magic against the Werewolf is cause they are resistant to it. It has little to no effect on them.

From my understanding, they can't use the time-turner to change an event that's already occured. If they would have known the dementors had already executed Sirius for example or actually saw Buckbeak's demise (the gang and the audience never saw it executed, we just heard the guy swinging the ax, later realizing he swung it because he was upset) then they wouldn't have been able to save them. Think of it as closing a loop rather than changing time.

Really tried to come for Rowling for no reason when this book and movie clearly pointed out how the minister was CLEARLY allowing the rules to slip and being lenient when it came to Harry. We could easily assume that Harry wasn't going to get in trouble for using lumos when he didn't get penalized for blowing up his Aunt by accident lol

There are so many details that the movies DO NOT explain either at all or pretty poorly, but always remember Don you will get the answers you need to know IN DUE TIME just keep watching. Harry Potter is a complex world n it makes me mad sometimes rewatching because I know the details from both the novels and movies....and some of the details I KNOW won't be explained well lmao it is a painful experience 🤣 great reaction as always

There’s so many details the movies leave out. A lot of people watching never realize that somehow Lupin knows how to use the Marauder’s Map without Harry telling him how to. You don’t really get another hint of it until part 5, and by then you’ve already forgotten the details of part 3.

I only know what my friend who is a huge fan of the books has told me cause I brought it up almost the same way you did. Supposedly Lockhart wrote a book about taking down a werewolf but since he is a liar it is not certain if it is true but if it is and he kept the facts of the werewolf attack true but put his own name instead of the person who actually did it, then what he mentioned about jabbing the wand to the werewolf's throat was probably why people don't do it. Not many would risk getting up close to a werewolf just to test if a spell would work when done with contact.

The further you get in these movies, the more important details from the books they just completely leave out to make room for useless action or drama... I really wish more reactors would react to the audiobooks, i have only seen like 2 or 3 do that, others just make videos of their thoughts after reading or listening to the books which is not the same thing.
