Animation is a bit wonky at times.. during season 3.. and on. But. I still don’t mind watching it at all lol. I still like it. Should watch the movie prisoners of the sky first before going more into season 3 though.

the blood censorship thing is a weird change but i think at some point in the season they go back to having blood

also yeah the detail in some of the scenes look a lot better but youll see why so many people hated s3, some of fights are just... terrible animation wise. the story only gets better from here though.

idk if people have already said this but id recommend fullmetal alchemist brotherhood if/when you start looking for a new anime to watch its around 60 episodes long and has a great plot and solid animation the entire way through

Brotherhood is really good..but og anime is way better in terms of tone, darkness, and mystery..brotherhood just has better action.. rare case of the studio doing it better than the manga..growing up i used to be confused why Fullmetal was in the same category as naruto..then brotherhood came out and it all made sense

I think that's a bold opinion shrouded by nostalgia. I'd say FMA og is very good but brotherhood is widely seen as one of the best anime all time plus it follow the canon all the way through. If he was to watch one id say brotherhood but if he plans to watch both i think starting with the og is better.
