I agree with Nathan ^ Also, Saitama became a hero for fun and doesn't want I think that he doesn't want people to start thinking badly of heroes and he knows what it's like to be powerless but still want to protect people and stop bad guys, remember he was getting his ass beat by Crablante lmfao. He also doesn't need fame or recognition because at the end of the day he knows how strong he actually is. His only concern is finding an opponent that will make him feel alive again edit: just heard the end of the video lol

I think Saitama is the kind of guy who lives through other people, or at least learned to live by mimicking that which has inspired him, and the reason he’s so strong is because his interpretation of inspiration is so simple. It’s not complicated by reasons for why he wants to be the strongest hero, he just wants to be the strongest hero because that’s what he thinks a true hero is. Once he passed everyone in strength, he didn’t have a conviction beyond his goal he achieved and now desperately stands aside to let others give him a another or better reason to be more than what he is. That’s why he doesn’t care about striving for fame or wealth or the girl; it doesn’t fit with his idea of what a hero is, but he has zero frame of reference on what to do moving forward because he’s never seen anyone else achieve what he has. There’s nobody he knows of that’s more capable than himself which is why he complains about being bored. He’s exhausted himself looking for something more, not for someone who is physically stronger than himself, but someone’s beliefs that truly make Saitama question his own.
