Black Clover is a pale version of clever writing. It gave me the same vibes as Sword Art Online, an interesting premise without any real depth. It's why I like Naruto but not Shippuden because it just becomes a power climb for the sake of bigger and flashier "AHHHHHHHHHH" moments. I don't fault people for liking it, but it barely scratches the surface of what it could have been. Don't get me wrong, I think shows like that usually have satisfying moments, but it's because it relies on sudden new ideas or simple solutions for complex situations that don't feel earned.

You know that's interesting you say that cause I would compare black clover to shows like haikyuu the drive and passion of hinata that's asta and kageyama would be yuno. The back stories are rich and quick (therefore i don't go into existential dread like i do every one piece back story) the fillers are rare. The issues it deals with are important from class to family. But as I grow up I'm learning people have different tastes for example when I was finally in the depths of one piece I thought lemme give Naruto a chance and I couldn't get past episode 80 because the depth was taken away by all the fillers plus aside from loving Naruto who reminds me of Asta the others were just there. though I did like rock lee another asta and the sand guy who again can be compared to the 1st villan in Black Clover. So the things I liked about Naruto were things that reminded me about Black Clover. Do i wish they made Asta taller and returned finrals former hair ofcc but I think their writing is top quality though at times their animation might not be. Black Clover replaced HxH and MHA as number one till one piece and haikyuu came along and took 1 &2 spot. Its not just a power climb it deals with issues such as found family, rejection, betrayal, 2nd chances, abuse, power and don't get me started on the Queen mereolona. If people would look carefully what Black Clover relies on is just the same as haikyuu train your butt off fight as a team (protect people, learn from them) and become the hokage...wizard King. Plus I like black clover because you get to see people change outside of the main cast, you see change in people that sometimes you don't notice till after a 2nd rewatch. But I'll stop here because I could write a whole thesis about the benefits and superiority of Black Clover and why Nash should be the wizard King after Asta. Madada or whatever asta screams every 2 seconds 🤷🏾‍♀️🙏🏽🍀
